PROFILE

Pepot Atienza, also known by his label Pepot ART, is a multi- disciplined artist specializing in kids' content, an aspiring filmmaker, and an advocate for children’s rights based in Quezon Province, Philippines. Born on April 23, 1990, and raised in Atimonan, he graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, College of Fine Arts and Design, majoring in Advertising Arts. And finished his Masters Degree in Stop-motion Animation in BAU Centro Universitario de Artes y Diseño in Barcelona, Spain.

He initially worked as a motion graphics artist and animator for ABS-CBN's Yey! Kids Channel. Later on, he pursued his passion for creating illustrations for children and enjoyed experimenting with different art mediums for his book illustrations. This interest evolved into creating stop motion animation and writing stories, prompting him to pursue a Master's Degree in the Stop Motion Animation. Upon graduating from the program, hec0- produced a stop animation short entitled “Daisy,” which has now been selected to screen in international film festivals around the globe. He also had the opportunity to intern and eventually work in Citoplasma’s puppet department of “Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake,” a full-length stop-motion film produced in Europe. There, he contributed to various tasks in puppet fabrication and more.


His diorama and children's illustration artworks has been recognized by both local and international illustration award-giving bodies and are notable for its uniqueness in style. He is a recipient of awards such as:

Currently, Pepot is an active member of various art organizations, facilitating workshops, volunteering for NGOs, and serving as a key speaker at art talks. These achievements inspire Pepot to teach and share the joy of creating art in its many forms—children’s book illustration, animation, and filmmaking.
